Single Return Treads
These treads are actual length, including the return. The return is 1 ¼” wide, so, the tread will actually cover 1 ¼” less than the total length. For instance, a 48” tread, will actually only cover 46 ¾”. A 54” tread will cover 52 ¾”. A word of caution, because walls and framing can vary or be out of square, if you have a stairs that is framed at 46 ¾”, you will want to use a 54” tread. You may end up with treads that are gaping at the wall because they are too short otherwise. The returns on these treads are routed where they join to the tread, not cut at a 45 degree angle. We feel that by routing, it makes a nicer look as opposed to the 45 degree joint that is seen on some return treads. The Single Return tread is a full 11 ½” wide with 1 ½” overhang on the front. This will give you a 10” run or step. Double Returns Treads
The width on these treads is measured between the return ears. These lengths are actual tread coverage and do not include the returns. For instance, if your stairs measures 48” from outside of one skirtboard to the outside of the other skirtboard, then you will need the 54” DBL Ret.
The Double Return tread is a full 11 ½” wide with 1 ½” overhang on the front. This will give you a 10” run or step. Please send me your measurements so we can make sure that you get exactly what you need.

Single Bullnose Starting Tread
All of the bullnose treads are a package that come complete with the wrap/curved riser, the curved shoe moulding that goes around the bottom of the wrap/riser, and the curved cove that goes under the nose of the tread. The only thing you will need to install after the tread is installed is the shoe moulding. The tread and wrap come assembled together already, and all you will need to do is install the assembly.
The Single Bullnose tread is a full 11 ½” wide with 1 ½” overhang on the front. This will give you a 10” run or step. Just like single return treads, we will need to know your measurements and whether your stairs is open on the left or right, to make sure you get the Starter step that will work for you.
