Starter Tread Kits

Single Bullnose TreadWhen you want to accent the bottom of the stair case there is not better way to do that than with our Bull Nose Tread Kits.  These stair treads look great with a box newel, a pin top newel, and a attached volute to the rail.  Iron newels are also an option if your are using an iron balustrade. No matter what you use as newels,  our Bull Nose Stair Treads are the starting point to an awesome staircase.  Each Starter Tread Kit contains:

  • Bull Nose Starter Tread
  • curved riser
  • Circle Cove and Shoe Molding Kit

These starter treads like our standard tread are 11 1/2″ wide.  The nosing has a 1 1/2″ overhang.

Bull Nose Shoe Mouldfrom the frontWe are now happy to offer just the curved shoe mold to fit the starter steps.  Do NOT order this with the Starter Step, it comes in the KIT.  This is a great addition if you are replacing carpet with hard woods, or having to make changes to your floor, but do not want to redo your floors.

The curved shoe radius will fit a 10″ wide starter step wrap.  To verify the width of your starter step, lay the the straight edge against the back and front edge and measure in between.  Or make marks on the floor and measure between those marks to get the width.
