Our fluted newel post is crafted just like our standard newel post with inset vertical fluting in the center of the newel post.   In other words, the inset vertical fluting adds a little bit of detail to the newel post allowing it to make a statement for any stairs.  It comes with the Stately Cap.  However, if you want a different cap, you can contact us and let us know which cap you want.  Above all, with edge glued corners and all of the filled and sanded nail holes, the newel post arrives ready for painting and staining prep.

The Fluted Newel Post is 54″ tall and the shank is at least 3/4″ of solid wood.  Made from 3/4″ thick material, the base arrives loose so you can easily mount your newel post.  By doing this, you hide the mounting hardware.  The base is 1 1/2″ larger than size of the newel.  If you order a 4″ newel post, the base will be 5 1/2″.  The top of the newel  post has filler material at the handrail level for solid mounting all around.
